ANNOUNCEMENT
The Sustainable Legacy Corporation (SLC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of three new board members:
- Frank Grossman, president and board member of Hollis Montessori School.
Grossman was cofounder, president, and CTO of Mindreef, Inc (2001 until sold to Progress Software in 2008), and cofounder and CTO of NuMega Technologies, Inc. (1987 until sold to Compuware Corporation in 1998). Grossman was board president of Beaver Brook Association (2000 to 2009), an association that manages 2000 acres of land with a mission to promote understanding of interrelationships in the natural world and encourage conservation of natural resources through education and land stewardship.
- Robin Hartery, senior technical writer experienced in software development and quality assurance at Empirix, Inc.
With a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Hartery developed cross-functional skills in telecommunications and networking at Digital Equipment Corporation, worked as an R&D software engineer at Progress Software Corporation, and worked as a usability test engineer at Convergent Networks and Cisco Systems, Inc. As an environmental activist, Hartery has provided research inspiration and project development support for the SSET.
- Erik Nadeau, high school senior at Groton School and student president of the SSET.
Nadeau cofounded the SSET in 2010, the student organization from which the SLC formed in 2011. SSET accomplishments include implementing a motion-sensored solar lighting system at the Hollis Department of Public Works and establishing Energy Day as an annual event to promote alternative energy and sustainability in southern New Hampshire. At Groton School, Nadeau established the Green Zebra Campaign for student sustainability awareness. He plans to study environmental science and law in college.
The new board members bring wide-ranging engagement and environmental experience to the SLC board. They join existing board members Beth Kosis (President), Nora Lewis (First Vice President), Balaji Radakrishnan (Second Vice President), Jann Caywood (Secretary), Denise Van Veen (Treasurer), and Venu Rao.
The SLC board will meet again on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 7:00p.

Sustainable Legacy Corporation was formed expressly and exclusively to advance and provide educational enrichment for juveniles and full-time students in the areas of science and technology, including subject areas such as mathematics, physics, computer science, accounting, marketing, and business skills. Educational activities may include classes and instruction, meetings, field trips, independent study, and research as well as participation in projects, activities, and related educational enrichment events. Membership
Sustainable Legacy Corporation membership is composed of two levels:
- High school students
- Adult mentors such parents, teachers, coaches, and chaperones
Students generally form one or more groups or teams for purposes of pursuing Sustainable Legacy Corporation objectives (such as participation in sustainable energy projects). The Student Sustainable Energy Team (SSET) is one such student group. Program participation is defined by the availability and capacity of adult volunteers, and the safe and practical physical capacity of meeting locations and facilities. There is a financial commitment to become a student member.
Joining Sustainable Legacy is easy! If you are a high school student or mentor, just contact us through another member or send us an email at Energy@SSET-Global.org. Check our meeting dates and feel free to attend. We will be happy to answer your questions.
